TARGET visited Özyeğin University to explore student event opportunities focused on automotive embedded software and QNX. Discussions with academic representatives considered how a technical event could help undergraduate and postgraduate students better understand the industry’s applications and technical expectations.

A key topic was introducing career opportunities in automotive software alongside practical technical examples. The discussion covered an introductory overview of QNX applications and the role of operating systems in embedded software. This approach could help students connect what they learn in class with the applications they may encounter in industry.

As an initial step, the participants considered an English-language technical seminar comprising one or two sessions. A short demo and a question-and-answer session were also discussed as possible additions. Delivering the content in English would allow international students to take part.

The interests of students studying computer science and electronics, pursuing double majors or working on capstone projects were also considered. The discussion highlighted the value of tailoring the content to these different student backgrounds and using participation and feedback to assess opportunities for further technical events.

At TARGET, we aim to develop activities that help students explore automotive embedded software through both technical applications and career opportunities. We see the meeting with Özyeğin University as a valuable starting point for considering events that support this aim.
