SBIR (Santa Barbara Infrared)
SBIR (Santa Barbara Infrared) develops EO/IR test equipment for measuring, calibrating, and validating infrared, visible, and laser systems in laboratory, production, depot, and field environments. The portfolio includes blackbody sources, collimators, target projectors, portable test systems, and MIRAGE dynamic IR scene projectors. TARGET A.Ş. is the local technical point of contact in Türkiye for matching the unit under test, spectral band, optical geometry, real-time requirements, and export eligibility to the appropriate system architecture.
Blackbody, visible, and multispectral source families provide traceable and repeatable test stimulus for sensor evaluation.
Collimators, target wheels, and projector components present defined optical geometry to the sensor input.
MIRAGE supports hardware-in-the-loop testing of real EO/IR hardware against time-varying infrared scenes.
Three complementary product families for EO/IR validation.
The source, optical geometry, unit under test, and real-time requirements are assessed together to select a standard instrument, field test set, or dynamic scene projector.

Solution architecture
From test objective to measurable result.
The EO/IR test chain is treated as one system architecture, spanning unit-under-test requirements, stimulus generation, optical presentation, and validation method.
01 / DEFINE
UUT and validation objective
Sensor type, spectral band, aperture and field of view, measured metrics, and operating conditions are defined.
02 / STIMULATE
Source and scene selection
A blackbody, visible source, static target, or dynamic IR scene is selected for the required radiometric and temporal stimulus.
03 / PRESENT
Optical geometry and interfaces
Collimation, target mechanism, optical alignment, video, and trigger interfaces are matched to the test setup.
04 / VALIDATE
Measurement, calibration, and records
System performance is measured, while calibration, automation, and result management are confirmed for the selected SBIR hardware and compatible software.
Why SBIR?
A portfolio spanning standard instruments through dynamic scene projectors supports coordinated selection of source, optics, automation, and systems-engineering layers across the EO/IR test chain.
Modular standard-product foundation
Blackbody, collimator, target, and source components can be selected within an architecture suited to laboratory or production test setups.
System experience from lab to field
SBIR develops standard, semi-custom, and integrated EO/IR test systems for laboratory, production, depot, and field environments.
Dynamic IR scene expertise
MIRAGE H and XL focus on challenging real sensor hardware with time-varying IR scenes in HWIL environments.
SBIR EO/IR test and calibration systems
The SBIR portfolio includes blackbody sources, collimators, target projectors, visible and laser test components, portable field systems, and MIRAGE dynamic IR scene projectors. Together, these technologies support the characterisation, calibration, alignment, and performance validation of infrared, visible, and laser sensors.
IRWindows supports setup, test execution, data acquisition, and result-management workflows for compatible SBIR test equipment. Direct integration with MIRAGE must be confirmed separately for the selected configuration.
SBIR test-system engineering support in Türkiye
TARGET A.Ş. provides local technical assessment to match unit-under-test, spectral band, field of view, aperture, scene content, frame rate, triggering, data interfaces, collimation, installation, and schedule requirements to SBIR product families.
Shipment of MIRAGE products outside the United States requires an export licence. Access to technical data, configuration, end-user eligibility, and delivery approval are assessed for each project.
